Personality Demons: from Theosophical Digest 1993

*sometimes these people are so deceiving and it is important that we know their behavior so that we can deal with them cautiously.

Personality Demons

Other demons , many even nastier, are sheltered in the Temple of Pure, Arrogance, Humorlessness, Intolerance, Judgementalism, Self-Righteousness, & the always irrepressible Zeal maybe found there, running amuck, shrieking madly, and spraying graffiti on the white marble walls of noble ideals.

In human form they may assume various identities:

The Thought Police.
>Ever on the alert for ideological deviations, however slight, in the behavior, attitudes and conversation of others. Ugly thugs who get their kicks by denouncing people

The Intellectuals Bullies.
>
Knowing it -alls who'd rather to lose a friend than an argument. They like intimidating people especially new recruits, making them fill uninformed and incompetent.

The Bossy Anarchists.
>
Who demand voluntary collaboration on their terms only, They'll be found dominating all efforts at exchange of communication: talking too much and loudly and never listening to others

The Suffering Saint.
>
Are in almost physical pain from their largely self-inflicted wounds. They give the impression that if you have not sacrificed your personal happiness for tthe cause you're not serious. These purists like to establish unrealistic and rigid expectations- for everybody else.

The Avengers.
> Barndishing incivility as if were a Fragment of the true Cross. abd manners are to them a sign of moral superiority.

These "movement killers" are often appear to be the most passionately committed to the cause. They are certainly are the most grmly serious about it. They are in fact do valuable work, as issues analysis, lobbyists, or some such thing.
